I need help to continue sins of the father. i forgot the hair for the ceremony and now I can't go back and do it over cause everything is gone from inventory and I can't go back to New Orleans to start over ( flying to germany). Game sved all the way through ceremony. Do I have to start over?

You have to cut your hair in the castle, with the scissors in your room by the mirror. You don't need anything from New Orleans for the ceremony.

I didn't use the hair in the ceremony and so i can't end the day. My question is do I have to start the game from day one? Or is there another way to start the ceremony over.?

I just replayed that part and deliberately left out the hair-cutting from the ceremony. After I read the scroll, Gabriel commented that nothing happened. I went back to the bedroom, cut Gabriel's hair, went back to the chapel, and as soon as I knelt before the altar (USE altar) and read the scroll again, the ceremony completed.

So it seems that nothng is lost, you don't have to restart! :)

the bad thing is I cut the hair and can't find it or the scissors in my inventory. I cut the hair in the bedroom but I will try going to the chapel and knelling. Thanks. I will let you know if it works

It didn't work. He won't pick up the scissors and cut his hair again. It says the chamber pot has salt and blood in it. No hair in inventory so I don't know how to get his hair into it.

You DON'T have to put your hair into the pot and you need to only cut it once. Did you...

1. Washed your hands in the snow.
2. Cut your hair.
3. Put the bowl onto the altar.
4. Pour salt into the pot (bowl).
5. Cut your finger with the knife.
6. Kneel before altar.
7. Read (use) scroll on the altar.

If you did everything, then it should definitely complete the ceremony...

Yes I did all of those and I questioned Gert many times but the day won't end.. What am I missing?

I'm almost out of ideas... I completed that part again and the day should automatically end after reading the scroll.
There are some other things that may be important:

1. Asking Gerde about the church panels and then the initiation ceremony.
2. Looking at every church panel after talking with Gerde.
3. I wrote above that at the end of the ceremony, you have to use the scroll on the altar; it's not entirely precise, you have to use the scroll on Gabriel so he'll read it loud.

What happens with you exactly? Gabriel reads the scroll and says that nothing happens? Are you sure you washed your hands in the snow? (USE open window in Gabriel's room)
