I tried to run GK 3 both via steam and via GOG on a Win10 computer, and none of the fixes proposed in the forums proved to be permanently effective. The steam installation was easier to get started regarding the resolution and the CD1 issue, but it kept crashing whatever fix was applied - more or less frequently. This is very frustrating because of the many hours of lifetime wasted.
Game platforms should either make the games playable or remove them from their offer. This is not about money: but it simply cannot be our job as paying customers to fiddle around for hours to try to make such badly curated code run!
I played the game (GOG version) on Windows 10 recently, using the dgVoodoo tool, which simulates old graphics cards and their drivers.
