Anyone experiencing trouble with FTL after applying the 1.02.5 patch in which the game runs too fast? It ran at a reasonable speed prior to that, but now the crew run around like they're sliding on ice, and the weapons charge in less than half the time.

For example, with the Engi cruiser, an Engi can run diagonally across the ship, from engine room to weapons room, in under 5 seconds. It's hard to click on crew when they're moving, they're going so fast, and combat is twice as tough, because it's become a clickfest as quick as an RTS game.

Any options to slow the game down?

System:
Dell Optiplex GX520
Windows XP
Intel P4 3.40GHz
1GB RAM
NVidia GeForce 8400 GS

Options in FTL:
Fullscreen: OFF
Vertical Sync: Off
Frame LImit: Off
Dynamic Backgrounds: Enabled

We recently put up a patch that will bring your game up to version 1.02.6. Please try that patch and see if that helps :D

Just applied the patch, seems to make no difference - still just about too fast to be playable. Everything works as designed, so it's not really a bug - just a feature gone slightly awry.

While I appreciate that one of any programmer's goals is to make their software snappy and fast, this is just a bit too much. Perhaps a speed setting could be added to the Options menu, similar to SimCity or other games? ( Pause / Slow / Medium / Fast / Very Fast ) ?
Try enabling the "Frame Limit" option (will limit it to 60fps)...that did the trick for me on my old PC (no issues on my laptop at all).

I actually recommend having the option enabled anyway, will reduce your PC resource use (especially helpful if you're recording).

Unfortunately, I've played with this setting, back and forth, several times, and it seemed to make no observable difference. :/

All I was able to find on the issue is this article:

Haven't been able to find anything else...tried updating your GPU drivers?
