Really? The 3ds only has the same resolution as the old NES? After a quick google I see that you are correct, at least about the width.
I would never have guessed! Many games look incredible on this little gadget like the Resident Evil Revelations and Mercenaries (even more so with the 3d on):

But yeah, this could be a bit hard to control... I just wish I could bring this game along with me without hauling an iPad around.

Also a little heads up for you guys who own a 3ds XL. I opened mine a couple of days ago for a quick game and the right hinge LITERALY EXPLODED into a dozen pieces!

Apparently this is a common thing so be careful when you open it - experts say you should only open it from the front middle instead of flipping it open with your thumbs from the sides while holding it in the "gaming position". Also one of those bulky Nerf cases could help support the hinge and prevent this from happening.

I had to order a replacement front face and replacing it requires me to almost entirely disassemble the 3ds - wish me luck!

Good luck and sorry to hear about the 3DS hinge exploding, i once decided to have a look into an old Xbox (classic) controller to see if i could re secure the cable to the circuit and all the screw housings in the controller exploded, preventing me from resembling the controller.
