Game installs fine, verified game files, re installed, the game wont launch.
No error nothing, manually trying to run the executable for the game gives the d3dcomplier_47 dll problem error,
Microsoft site being difficult trying to download file manually from
www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4019990

any other suggestions?

I do not have the game, but d3dcomplier_47.dll is needed for .NET 4.7 - maybe the game uses it and will not run without.

Check the steam forums, there are others with the same issue and the devs look that forum up actively at the moment regarding this issue.

I dont have any of these issues myself and all my suggestions are stated down by the devs on the steam frostpunk forums under bugs. :)

No problem. Have you tried to run it as Admin from the folder (.exe) itself? I heard one case where this entire issue was solved with just that. Might be worth a shot.

that produced an error... The ordinal 385 could not be located in the dynamic link library SSLEAY32.dll, a new error lol figures, probly be a day for two before this game runs i'm gona guess.

A shameless quote, that seemed to work for a friend. He also mention running the game and steam as admin, but no idea if that would make an impact, since we got goold old GOG. :P

Try running the following

1) Reinstall vcredist
https://support.microsoft.com/en-ph/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads


2) Install the latest DotNet package

https://www.microsoft.com/net/download/dotnet-framework-runtime


3) If you have Windows 7/8 Run KB4019990

If you are on Windows 7 or Windows 8 manually install KB4019990
http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4019990


After any of these you MUST reboot your system

runing as administrator worked to me.
