My antivirus unfortunately deletes the game on startup.
Is that really harmless?

Interesting. I'm using Emsisoft too, just checked the log. Same here, puts the .exe into quarantine (didn't get a message though, that's why i had no idea that happened).

i haven't bought it yet (i always wait a while to see the reviews/ problems people have )

i had a similar problem with Deadlight: Director's Cut as i bought it but kaspersky kept adding the exe to the quaratine
i think it happens because GoG has to trojan out the steam anti piracy software that's added
so i had to add it to the exclusions list

alternaively you could always download the CLASSIC GAME INSTALLERS
For me it works now, just tried it. No false positive anymore. I didn't make an exception or something, I guess the malware library now views it as save to open
This is my first time using Linux, so please forgive me if this is a dumb question. Does Linux require Anti-Malware/Virus software to keep the machine safe? Are Linux and Windows more secure? In addition, if I do require protection, please suggest some. Thank you very much for your kind words!

It now works for me; I just tested it. There are no positives. I assume the malware library now considers it save to open because I didn't add an exception or anything.
