Hello everybody!

I downloaded Freespace 2 a few days ago and wanted to use my Xbox 360 Controller but obviously it's not possible. I can only use the keyboard as control, if I try to use the 360 Controller there's no reaction at all. I opened up the settings and there is a setting activated for joystick, so I was wondering if the 360 Controller might not be supported at all by the original FS 2, only several types of probably older joysticks...

The 360 Controller itself works fine, I just used it for the Hangar Module of Star Citizen and had no problems at all:-)

Thus I would like to ask you if the 360 Controller isn't supported by FS 2 or could there be another issue, e. g. that the game was not properly installed, etc.?

Or do I have to install the FS2 Open mod or something else to make use of the 360 controller?

And if the 360 controller isn't supported, which joystick would you recommend for playing FS 2?

I'd also like to add here that I'm quite a newbie when it comes to computer games or gaming in general;-)

Thank you very much in advance for helping me out here;-)

Kind regards,

Michael
