The game runs great until the window minimizes randomly. When I try the get back in the game crash's and I have too ctrl+alt+del it. There are no messages or alerts when this happens and it is not the screen saver.

Is it possible you're accidentally hitting some (combination of) key(s) that Windows recognizes? I would often hit the Windows key playing.
