I missed out on Freespace2 years ago. I just discovered it a few days ago after downloading a mod built on its engine. I was directed here after I started wanting to experiance the origional game. For being as aged as it is, the engine and Game look and play better then anything released in recent years.
With the ton of mods and missions out there for FS2, I suspect I'll be well entertained for a while. Not bad for six bucks.
