An absolutely classic space combat sim, but like many games on GOG, it suffers from its age. Graphics aren't everything, but they definitely enhance the experience and these graphics fail to do that. You can limit that by getting the FreeSpace Open/Source Code Project, which adds some more modern graphical elements, like pixel/vertex shader 3.0, hardware T&L and normal mapping.
