Is anyone able to suggest an low cost joystick to play Freespace and other games with on Windows 10? £50 budget.

The Logitech Extreme 3D Pro isn't too shabby for this game. It has enough buttons on it for what you would be using constantly while in game. For me, as long as I have buttons for my thumb that allow me to switch weapons, and do energy management (I generally use the hat), and targeting options, I'm good,

Either the Logitech 3D as suggested already, or the "orange" Thustmaster T16000M.

As a standalone stick, the Logitech has a better button layout, and it's cheaper; on the other hand the TM has better sensors, can be rearranged for left handed users (one of the few that does that) and if you later wish for more, can be upgraded with the compatible throttle

I just got the Thrustmaster FCS setup and I like it a lot. It has the orange T1600M stick, the throttle with a ton of buttons on it, and the rudder pedals with 3 axes on them.

I set it all up in joystick gremlin binding to a virtual joystick (VJoy).
