I am having a problem using the fix for the after burner problem with Freespace One.

Basically I cannot download the fix as anything but a HTML or a Text file, and if I do that the Microsoft Compatiblity Administrator program will not open or even recongize it. What am I doing wrong?
And for the moment, getting Freespace 2 and using Freespace Open is not a solution for me.....
