Hello all I'm sorry if this is a repeat question here.

I'm trying to connect Freespace 1/2 via direct IP connection with only the downloaded version of this game from GoG. I have my IP and my friends IP which we've entered into the box in the options/multi tab and disabled the PSX. We are both able to create a game but we can not see either of our games from the other PC. I'm told I need to forward a port or something through my router so they may connect but I've not had any luck trying to Google how to do this.

Your problem is caused by the router for the computer that is hosting the game. What you basically need to do is get the router to forward port 7808 (UDP and TCP) to that computer.

Simply pick the router you have from the list and it should have a guide on what exactly you need to do.
