So I'm runnin Vista and FS2. Now I'll have to format my hdd, and need to find where the saved games/profiles for FS" are located so I can keep on playing after the formatting is done. Any info on the location of saved games/profiles etc will be much appreciated.

If they're not in that folder, it might be the old vista 'relocating non-admin data' trick. Have a look in
C:\ Users \ <username> \ AppData \ Local \ VirtualStore \ Program Files
and see if there's a freespace folder somewhere in there. App Data is a hidden folder by default.

Thanks. Somehow my computer lost track of my save files on its own. It turns out that it had them stored at one of these locations but was looking for them in the other or some such. Anyway, copying them over fixed it.
