When I start Freespace 1. FMVs play properly but my keyboard input isn't registered. Additionally when the game finally gets to the menu, the screen is purple and distorted, and it doesn't let me type in a callsign. Can someone help me?

Starting movie plays for me as well , no keyboard input but I have the menu .

May have something to do with windows 10
I am also running Nortons anti-virus software.
