I've managed to run the game but it isn't accelerated at all. I was looking for some config files but didn't found anything. My rig basic specs are: c2d e6550, gigabyte 8800GT, 2GB ram, Win XP Home, SP3. Thanks in advance.

I haven't tried the GOG version of the game, since there's a upgraded freeware version
out too. The freespace source code project. You might want to try it out.
