I bought Freespace 1 and 2 - the second part didn't have that problem but when I accidentally press Alt+Tab or Windows key - it goes back to the desktop or other application and I can't go back into the game. Last time I did that at the end of some longer mission.
Is there a way to deal with that problem?

I've had the same problem but I believe I have a solution.
When you Alt-Tab out of Freespace do not try to Alt-Tab back. Press Control +Alt+Delete and make sure that under the Applications Tab that Freespace is the only running application.
Once it is the only application press the "Switch to" button.

sometimes it does not work (it goes to Freespace and than back to other app) but eventually it works - thanks!
I think the safe way is to not have any other application on the screen - just the desktop - that way it goes back to freespace and stays there

Ok, I just joined, got Freespace, tried to create a profile, I get the alt/tab menu, hit ignore and then it just shuts down on me. I did the task manager with no apps running whatsoever, I hit switch to, come back, and then it no longer responds so I would have to shut it down manually. Any insight?
