I tried running the installer for FSO and got an error message saying "a section specified in the install config could not be found. (FreeSpace Open 3.6.10 Windows Executables)" along with several other sections. The FSO launcher did not appear when I clicked Yes on all the prompts. Now I'm confused. I was told that simply running the installer was enough to get FSO working, but apparently it isn't? What do I do?

Edit: Forgot to install OpenAL. I'm stupid.

The FSO installer is looking for 3.6.10 but 3.6.12 is the most recent. If you do "the works" install it doesn't know to look for 3.6.12... try a few of the different initial options and it should go through.
It seems to be installing the 3.6.12 files now. I picked "the works" because it was the only thing that could install everything, selecting the bare minimum or the other option resulted in the error message.

Ah that's what it was, I was going from memory. Glad you got it going!
Thx guys, I always took the option with just the graphical update and had the same problem. Seems to work properly now.
