I'm propably just too dumm to see it but I already finished the game and I still have no idea what those orbs from the chests actually do. They come in different colors as well but I can't find any indicator about their actual purpose.

You need them for the "dice" bonus game. I think like 30 per attempt?

Okay, but how do they work exactly? Like with the different colors.

The colors don't matter anymore. In the original game design those tokens were supposed to give you a shield (if you collect 5, you would get a shield of the majority type), but now you get shields directly from bonus containers. Tokens will only be used for the bonus stage.

I haven't played for a while, but the idea also was to make the orbs be ammunition for a secret character, but I'm not sure if that's implemented in the current version.
