Just wanted to get that off my chest :D It's amazing and I enjoyed every second of it. Thank you Stevie and everybody on the Galaxytrail for providing such a gret experience.
I've just played the first stage and it's indeed brilliant. The game and its controls feel so good, I cannot even remember when I truly enjoyed the game this much. Probably the first Croc, ages ago.

This is coming from a person who played Mortal Kombat 9 and X recently with their absolute trash input lags and input reading AI, though.
I definitely enjoyed this game a ton. I am really looking forward to Freedom Planet 2 :)
That game's a blast... but first, I've gotta be blasted in Super Hexagon first, then I can continue getting blasted as Milla!
Today is my day, I've finally beaten Freedom Planet with Lilac (well, I've returned a couple of days ago to this game after a looong break and decided to finally finish it).

That's really great title. Definitelly one of the best 2D platformers I've played in previous year. It has charm characteristic for platformers for Mega Drive (especially series with some blue hedgehog :)), with small addition of "something" from PC DOS games and great thing - fully dubbed cut-scenes (I can't explain this, but it made my reception far better - probably because it showed me how could look like games like Sonic 3 with dubbed cut-scenes).

It's great to see that devoted fans of Sonic are making their own game with their own "franchise". You can clearly see that it this "devotion" has a lot of influence in game, but it contains also its own, original "addition".

And on the horizon we can see another game from people belonging to Sonic's community (Sparks the Electric Jester) and of course sequel of FP is coming. And I have hope that both of them will come to GOG.

Don't forget to vote for Spark the Electric Jester on the community wishlist!

The game is shaping up quite nicely and really deserves more publicity on GOG!
From what I have played, my one complaint is that the levels are too long, and there are no mid-level saves. As a result, this game isn't suitable for when I just have a few minutes to play. The game would be better if the levels were split into acts, like in classic Sonic The Hedgehog games.

Other than that issue, I enjoyed what I have played of the game. (Actually, I could give another complaint: there's too much of a difficulty jump between the non-boss portion of a stage and the boss fight.)

I guess that one is a matter of expectations. If you went in expecting short levels I can see your point, but in the grant scheme of things we're talking less than half an hour per level, which is fairly on par with a typical game.

Totally agree with this one. The levels are all fairly subdued, and you'll rarely (if ever) actually lose a life while playing through them. Those bosses, though? Going through 5-10 lives per boss is fairly normal.

The ridiculous difficulty of the boss fights made the speed-running achievements feel empty. It was all about beating the boss on the first try, and the rest of the level just felt like irrelevant filler. You just don't care about shaving off 10 seconds by recklessly dashing through a difficult section when a screw-up on the boss battle will cost you to 2-3 minutes. That boss battle becomes all that matters.
