To keep my problem short: is there any possibility to open the game in windowed mode? Can't find it in the options or files. And standard alt+enter also does not work.

I'd also like to run this in windowed mode. I've gone spelunking in the usual directories for settings files and only found usersetting.config (C:\Users\UserNameHere\Documents\Polymorph Games\Foundation\usersetting.config in Windows 10) which only has the same variables as the menu in the game itself.

You can use the "-window" launch option.

If you use Galaxy, select the game, press "MORE", press "Settings", tick the "Add command line argument" and type "-window". Next time you launch the game through galaxy it will be in windowed mode.

Fantastic. Do you know if there's an argument to set the window's resolution as well?

Unfortunately, I couldn't find a way to set the resolution.You can resize the window manually though. The rendering resolution is the same as the window size. I also tried to set DPI override, but I couldn't.
