Mac OS 11

I went to Security and allowed DosBox to receive keystrokes from other apps, but launching the app just gives me a blank fullscreen that won't respond to any key command other than Force Quit.

Let me know if you have any pointers! Staff haven't gotten back to me.

I just tried to install and run Pool of Radiance on MacOS 12.6 and I got the same problem.

It sounds like the problem might be that the version of DOSBox being used is not compatible with the latest versions of MacOS. A possible solution is to use a separate updated emulator to run the game. You can try downloading the latest DOSBox for Mac here:

https://www.dosbox.com/download.php?main=1

Or better yet use 64-bit Boxer which has more functionality:

https://boxer.thec0de.com/

After downloading and installing one of those, then you just need to add the game files manually. I don't use Galaxy, so I'm not sure if it has a different file structure, but for the offline/backup installers: use Finder to navigate to where the game app is installed on your computer. Right-click on the game app and select "Show Package Contents", then navigate to Contents>Resources>game. Within that folder will be the folder of the actual game itself, the name of the folder will vary depending on the game (it is called POOLRAD in the case of Pool of Radiance). With Boxer you can just drag the folder over to Boxer to add it, I'm not sure if DOSBox is the same or not.

I just tested this now with Pool of Radiance on Boxer64 and it works.
