Ok, this is a silly thing to verify first, but it must be done. You have actively selected the 'Move' option so that there's no other menu options on screen, correct? You have to actively click on it or hit 'M'. It works differently than Pool of Radiance or Curse of the Azure Bonds where you can just move as you like.
