Not a game issue, as I have yet to find one since getting the Gold Box collections, but I am hoping someone here can answer a question relating to the old 'Dragonlance' book series. Does anyone know the name of the book where an epic hero (can't remember the name) fights and befriends a minotaur (also named, but can't remember)? If I remember correctly, the two go on to become famous in the series.
Sounds like 'The Legend of Huma' novel.

Ah, right! Huma and Kaz! Thank you very much!
Wow, this was a wave of nostalgia. Pretty sure there was a book 'Kaz the Minotaur' as well. This is going a long, long way back. I read so many of those in my teenage years! Thanks for the memories :)
They had an entire series with Kaz and friends, which, as a teenager I thought were pretty good.
I couldn't tell you if they were ACTUALLY good, since teenagers have shit taste but I've been curious to read them again :)
No, I tried to re-read the Chronicles while I was studying English Literature at university.

The answer is a disappointing "no, they are not good".
Aw, that's too bad.

There's a lot of stuff I read or watched as a kid and deliberately don't go back to, because I'm worried it'll turn out it was crap, and hence ruin my memories.
I think you can still enjoy the Dragonlance novels if you haven't read much fantasy before. But if you have read ASOIAF, Malazan and Prince of Nothing, Dragonlance will feel very simple and juvenile in comparison.

They're definitely not the best writing ever or anything, but they're fun if you're looking for a simple story of good vs evil.
I suppose they were also a bit of a "last gasp" for straight-forward heroic/romantic (in the literary sense of the word) fantasy, before the "EVERYTHING IS GRIM AND DARK PLEASE KILL YOURSELF NOW" ethos took over fantasy writing.
