I played Pool of Radiance on a C64 back when it originally came out. There was a weird item that would appear in the character's inventory called something like "+1Mail +2 Plate". I seem to remember that it was very difficult to get rid of and I think it was cursed. I've searched around but can't find any references to it. Does anyone else remember this?

I do remember that if you split items in your character's inventory (eg arrows) after your character's inventory is already full, then the top item in that character's inventory turns into a new glitched item with unusual effects. The armour you're remembering is possiprobably the result of that.

Did these items appear after visiting the graveyard? There is a Knights Tomb there which has some nice gear for Lawfull Good (LG) characters. IIRC any non LG characters that tried to equip that gear would be cursed with encumbrance.

I also originally played POR on the C64. I also had my own share of "weird items". One was after Podal Plaza. After a battle during the auction, a rod was among the treasure. None of the shops could ID the item but it would 1 hit kill anything it hit, even Tyranthraxus at the end. It seemed very much like what 1 of the rumors the journal had about the item being auctioned off. The other was a sword. Possibly the same Knights sword I mentioned above. After equipping the sword on a human fighter with 18 (00) strength. The fighter became fully encumbered. If I traded any items or coin to other party members. I couldn't trade them back.
