topherblair: Wondering if anyone knows how a turn is calculated and if there's a stat that helps with a character getting a turn. I've noticed that enemies usually get around 3 to 4 turns each before I get a turn again for any of my characters. I know back 'in the day' AI in PC games usually 'cheated' to create some difficulty for the player so just curious if that is the case or if there's a stat I have low that would help.
It should definitely not work like that. Are you sure it's the same enemy getting multiple turns, and not a different enemy each time?
Combat is divided up into "rounds". Every round, each character (and each enemy) gets their turn to move & attack. The order that a character or an enemy will have their turn each round is randomized each round (but characters with high dexterity (16+) have a greater chance to act earlier in the round). Some enemies may have multiple attacks, but they will always take them at the same time (not split up during different parts of the round).
Even spells such as "Haste" and "Slow" will only affect your movement speed and your #attacks, but won't affect the number of turns/actions you get each round.
