I am wondering: Is Menzoberranzan updated to 1.1? The 1.0 version has this issue where the final boss would sometimes not show up, leaving you stuck and having wasted 12+ hours on getting through the game.

Yeah, it says v 1.10 right on the main menu, top left corner.
