Sarisio: Game won't work without those files.
"Pak" IS generic file extension. Different developers have their own file packaging algorithms and many of them share some generic name like "pak".
In other words it was never intended for that file to be opened by standard file archivers.
Skysect: Nope you didn't understand me . I am not speaking about "red" pak files . there is one extra .pak file in "green" box . I saw that in Forgotten Realms Archives disk and GOG version . Other copies of the game (floating on internet) don't have this .pak . I can't compare with floppy versions because I didn't have them .
Maybe it just contains those red EOBDATA1..6.PAK files and the installer unpacks it to separate files. If you use a hex editor and search the file you'll find the EOBDATA1.PAK .. 6.PAK filenames in it. Even parts of the files in it.
Maybe in some game versions the installer deletes the file after unpacking and in some versions it doesn't delete it. When the games were released, having a 1.5 megabytes junk file on your hard disk might have been signifigant but not so much anymore when Forgotten Realms Archives was released.
I'm just kidding, the file actually contains the dungeon levels 13-15 where you finally confront Gagyx himself.
