Hi.

I have played a few games with sometimes ellaborate (but good) stories but I was wondering since this game's focused rather on action and computer generated dungeoins (which is awesome) but...

You play only as one player.

I was wondering if anyone knows a game similar to this from this period in time (but recent are also good) but where you have a party and character creation.

I know a few games as those in my library but was just wondering if anyone knowss more titles.

Game is really good :p

There are a few different games in the Forgotten Realms collections, which one is it that you are referring to?

I assume you're talking about Dungeon Hack, and you're looking for another grid-based and combat-heavy dungeon crawler with computer generated levels, but allowing for a whole party instead of just one player character? Like Dungeon Master or Eye of the Beholder, but as a roguelike instead of a fixed, linear, story-oriented campaign?

Personally, I don't know of such a game, sadly. I think Dungeon Hack was pretty unique in what it does.

Thank for replies, sorry for late reply.

I've been looking myself and couldn't find a game similar to Dungeon Hack indeed.

I thought the concept very good. Not heavy on story, which is a sort of pity but there are (relatively) a lot of other games in dungeon crawl style with good or interesting stories to them so this,

Dungeon Hack is a nice welcome change to pace.

Nice game and action packed with raomly generated dungeons that looked like had this quality and atmosphere about them.

If there's no games like Dungeon Hack, goes to show that it's really an unique and rare experience, the way it was made.

There are modern Rogue-lite first person games and some have a fantasy theme. They don't have much in the way of character creation and I haven't found any with party creation.

Yeah character creation is really neat but on top of that having dynamic (generated) dungeons is another extra that's really neat concept wise.

I think certain types of games died or passed along with the 90's. No matter what kind of remake they do seemingly it all comes down to not the same thing :p

Which is a pity.

Various races and classes and character creation multiple party... deep dungeons (and surface levels) and varied enemies...

Just bring forth sort of almost unlimited gameplay potential. Atomsphere, sound/graphics & level details come a lot down to the engine itself and dungeon grid based crawlers just have this element of surprise to them that's unmatched in games generally.

There's Thief series System Shock series... that have this sort of aura about them but in all honesty certain 'thoroughbred' games seems sort of out of style with casual crowd.

Even though there are games like Deus Ex and Bioshock which are almost sort of an exception to this rarity 'rule'.

If you are looking for decent party creation games that are turn based then there aren't a lot of newer games that offer that.

If you just looking for fantasy RPG's that have party creation then there are some newer ones that offer that. Icewind dale while not new might scratch that itch. Some newer games have a quasi party creation like Pathfinder : Kingmaker, Pillars of Eternity, Bard's Tale IV, etc. Be warned you can't create characters from the get go and usually they resource dependent (i.e. gold, or similar in game currencies)
For procedurally generated dungeons, turn-based combat, and party creation, look no further than Starcrawlers

It is a fantastic game, feeling both fresh and old school at the same time. A lot of love and thought has gone into many aspects of it. I cannot recommend it enough.

I haven't played it yet, but Pathfinder: Kingmaker's Beneath the Stolen Lands is apparently randomly generated. I'd say the same for NWN's Infinite Dungeons, but NWN isn't really party-based (although there are mods that overcome this, who knows if those mods are compatible with Infinite Dungeons?)
