I originally stumbled upon this issue when trying to play the game on Linux, but apparently this affects Windows as well.
Basically if you install the game from the GOG offline installer, it doesn't install the font that it needs, so the game ends up using some ugly monospace font instead. If your game looks like this, then follow these steps:
1. Inside the game install directory, go to the "font" folder (...\Flowers - Le Volume Sur Printemps\font)
2. Run overlock_mod_font_installer.exe. It will quietly install a new font to your system, without displaying any window.
3. Restart the game
(What's funny is that there is an installscript.vdf file next to the font installer, which I think is something that would be recognized by Steam, however GOG's installer doesn't do anything with it. They probably forgot about that and that's why you need to install the font manually...)
