Malwarebytes just gave me a warning as well that two files were found to be malware. What is going on with this title?

WTF 10 antivirus engines have flatout.exe to be a virus! Wow this is sad!
i was looking threw GOG's forums on this game and it has been listed as a virus for the last 8 years with out 10 anti virus engines taking it off their virus list. So i would say this is indeed a real virus skipping this crapola!
Since they all detect it as something different, I would guess that they are detecting something that all of them have in common, not something that is actually malicious. Things like compressed executables are typically treated like this.

Further reason to believe it is a false positive is that the version distributed on Steam is also detected as malicious (https://steamcommunity.com/app/6220/discussions/0/7953989649972680781/)
