I've seen gog exes trigger what are clearly false positives, but that combined with the other issues i'm having makes me more cautious on this one.

DRDNA: well here it is 8 years later and 10 anti virus engines still list flatout.exe as a virus, so after 8 years i would say it is indeed a virus!
For sure. Ran into the same today after doing a manual MalwareBytes and then as is sensible, chucking the executable at Virustotal which got 25/73 hits & the behaviours tab doesn't inspire the most confidence. I found a reddit thread from four months ago doing the same and they only got 24 hits so it's going up! Maybe eventually the game will get a 'perfect' score on Virustotal? :p
