I let the screen run for 30 min. No keyboard to allow go past, just the blue Matrix style effect on screen.

I think im facing the same problem. My game needs a few minutes to get past the blue "martix" screen. Its odd.

It looks like the "matrix screen" is a loading screen. In my PC it takes less than 5 seconds to end and show the main menu. You should contact GOG support.
