Cyan really did an amazing job with releasing the Update that quickly.
Sadly i can't change the topic subject anymore.

As of now (05/19/23), the game has a lot of bugs that will have a huge negative impact on your gameplay.
Lot's of dialogues are missing, glitches let you fall through the floor, some puzzles don't work properly, graphic bugs and a few minor issues.

That's why i highly suggest that every player should wait until Cyan has fixed the major issues in the next upcoming patch.

Also, please no hate towards Cyan.
They are a small Indie Studio nowadays that produces games for a relatively niche audience.
I'm sure they went through a lot of hardship and effort, in order to create this piece of art.
Because that's what it is at the end, a piece of art.
Even with all those bugs, Cyan has done it again.
Great job.

The bug where the narrator stops speaking seems to have been fixed as of today's patch!

Alas, I am stuck after obtaining the Concatenation ability, as the Adjunct can no longer activate anything. Hope the next patch addresses this. Loving this game, but the technical issues are brutal.

At least with galaxy, yes. No need to restart the game after patching.

Well, for me the update somewhat broke that game. Now it crashes every 30 minutes, whereas before the update it worked with no crashes.

Yes, they released a patch called 1.0.0-Patch1 recently. They didn't update the version number in the game.

I'm running 1.0.0-Patch1 but I'm still hitting game-breaking bugs left, right and centre. Most recently, I tried to take a Conveyance Pod from The Swan to St Andrew Arch, and during the pod ride I shifted up on top of the pod socket. Then I got dumped out of bounds in St Andrew, free to explore the nether regions of the map but unable to interact with anything or open the menu, while the Pod sound effects continue to play in a loop.

I'm hoping I can get back into the game by restoring a save, but I'm also hoping there's another patch soon to fix some of this. (I haven't reported this to Cyan yet, as I figured their bug hotline must be lit up like a Christmas tree at the moment).

This is a beautiful game from Cyan, but the ease with which I'm hitting these bugs makes me suspect they didn't do any QA before release...

They added an option in the menu to return to a safe point.

Hope they get this fixed soon. I cannot play at all as all saves fail . I know they are a small studio, do you forget some of us have waited 4 years for this game and paid good money to support it.. Let's hope it will be working good soon

This game is a disaster. I have been a loyal Cyan jingoist since the beginning. Playing and purchased the entire Myst series, then URU, then Real Myst. I fear that (and I am not alone in this opinion) the game was made for VR and any desktop game play is a second class citizen. The game should have been developed for reality reality first then adapted to VR. I cannot play this game after so many years keeping the faith. There was so much beauty, and effortless gameplay and heartfelt storylines which is what kept me loyal. How did it all get worse?! We should be getting paid to be the beta testers that we are because this feels like a job. Just say that you're not going to make the game available for desktop play instead of making us pay to be tortured. I feel like such a masochist.

Obduction was still a good puzzle game like myst and riven ...
I spent days and weeks to solve my puzzles and later also with Uru.
But this ... that's just bad. The story itself is good ...
But I was done so quickly and I always need longer than others!
And that is somehow quite bitter for a cyan puzzle game ...
I also have to admit honestly ... this always the same stereotype begins to annoy me. This forced telling in the same (worse -falling) puzzle ... forced, "I want/must not tell you anything, but ..."
Yeesha still had real stories to tell!
Or C.W. At OBDUCTION ... In this way nobody would never receive you if he needs your help ...
The short intermezzo with the AI at the end was literally a blessing of communication ....
From halfway I put the audio comment to 0 and only read because this style simply got on my nerves! Because that did the game enough with the bugs and glitches ...
After the credits, I couldn't even end the game because the menu is frozen and also the second time too ....

Whew, thank you for the solidarity! It was difficult to be honest about this in a public forum and defy the shaming of the original poster. This is my personal experience. And I never finished obduction on my own. It was so frustrating after begging for tech support and reading countless forum posts that I just watched a stinking walk through to see how it ended both ways. To go from that to this, Cyan has one more chance to keep me. I will wait for patches and updates and I hope that I can actually play this one.

But I would still wait, because they have not patched anything in a certain world that also bitterly needs it...
