I read the manual, but it doesnt really explain much. For example, if a weapon with 80 penetration hits a vehicle with 90 armor, what are the odds of doing damage? What is the exact formula used here?
Similarly, how is close combat calculated? Do chain fists or power fists have any difference in the game, like they do in the tabletop game?
What about accuracy? I remember that accuracy was notoriously bad for the game. I remember that basilks and most artillery units were useless...you could use an entire company to kill one squad of infantry. I do remember that manticores had a very high hit rate though, and would often wipe out a squad of infantry per shot.
I dont know about anyone else, but every time I played it, I found infantry really time consuming and frustrating to use...I rushed to an all tank force ASAP followed by Titans. Chimeras are death traps, loading/unloading infantry is time consuming and infantry themselves die like flies and deal very little damage.
Back when I played it, I remember that the Orks would only counter attack you once in the entire campaign, after which they would bug out and never attack you again. You could just hit end turn forever and never worry about defending. Is this fixed in the GOG version?
Is there any way to modify the stats of weapons or units? I never got the point of "tank bolters" that were so short ranged to be useless...or a battle canon that could only kill one infantry guy per shot.
Edit : And for some reason alt-tab does not work in the game so I cannot alt-tab out?
