Ok, the floating cube is telling me to go unlock the door in the ancient city? Now where would that be?

I believe it is through the 16-cube door in the "hub" area that contains the 4-cube door, 8-cube door and 16-cube door. I think this "hub" is one of the first places you find after leaving the village at the start of the game.

The 16-cube door leads to the ancient city, and the 32-cube door is in the city.
