I have tried
- FPS/Input Lag fix
- 4GB patcher
- disabling full screen optimization, running as admin with WIN XP SP2

The game launches fine. I can select "New Game", difficulty, then loading screen pops up and the loading bar fullfills completely.

When I get the message "Press any key to continue", I click any key, screen turns black and then desktop shows up.

I think that DX8 Shaders were causing this.

To fix go to Video Cards Settings and find DX8 Shaders option and disable it.
