Does this version of the game also come with the free multiplayer component (F.E.A.R. Combat) that came out a while back now?

Would be nice to maybe have this component added as an extra for this game or as another free GOG game.

It probably does, but since the master server was shut down (GameSpy), it's no longer officially supported. Hence why it's LAN only now.

If you read the About page, this is now unofficially supported by the fans - they made their own Master Server that also issues new CD-keys, etc.

If people are interested in checking out the online component for the game, this is certainly worth trying out. Either this or Gameranger.

I know about that, heck, I play F.E.A.R. online since 2005. However, I stated that it's no longer officially supported, which is true. Hence why GOG won't add it as an extra.
