Has anyone else had the problem of not being bale to enable vsync in far cry. I get 100+ fps with maxed out settings however the screen tearing is so bad that I can't play the game. Enabling vsync in the game and in the system config file have done nothing to help.

I am playing using an ATI 5750 with 1gb vid ram. any help would be great.

Sorted the problem myself. If anyone else has the same problem, use D3D overider; the ATI control panel is utterly useless and just doesn't work for D3D games.

Hi!

I have the same problem with my 2700K & GTX580, i can enable V-Sync but it never works!

FarCry runs @1920x1200@max with 500-600+ fps!

That means:

the power consumtion of my pc is around 300 Watts!

Now i found this:

In Game Press:
^

then Enter: g_maxfps 60

Fraps show me the game runs only with 100-110fps
(power consumption = 166 Watts)

if you enter
g_maxfps 30

The game runs with 54fps
(power consumtion = 90 Watts only)

Its not 100% the same like enable VSync in the graphic-driver menu,
but you have still the perfect/direct mouse controll feeling and of course save a lot of power.

Tip for german users:

the \

you will get with: STRG+ALT+\ (pressing three keys at the same time!)

If you are using an NVIDIA card why not just use the NVIDIA Control Panel to force v-sync for the game?
