Anyone else noticed those strange noises when the Ubisoft logo pops up? They are so annyoing. Don't remember that from the retail version.
GOG.com team, would you mind packing Far Cry with a fixed Ubisoft startup video when you repackage the game some day?

I have a retail version from the Sold-Out budget re-release and it has the same little glitch in the sound on the Ubisoft logo video that the GOG one has (I have since purchased the GOG version as it means I don't have to dig out my discs to play).
So, it is the correct video, but it is an issue that Ubisoft fixed with other games. It should be possible to replace it with a fixed video but really, it's that unimportant and it is part of the original game, so I don't think this will get done.
Rename the video file from ubi.bik to ubi.bik_old,

(C:\Games\Farcry\Languages\Movies\)

then the intro won't be played.

you can do this with

crytek.bik > crytek.bik_old
and
sandbox.bik > sandbox.bik

too.

The game will start directly in the menu.
