Hi there, I had a very hard time to understand why the cheats couldn't work on my pc.
Tried several step by step, checked into GOG's app launch parameters and try to alter the launch target... all to realize that the target path I had was simply wrong.

Be sure to first check the correct path to your exe file through windows first. I hadn't modified the proposed path by GOG (I know, I know) when installing and there it was : C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Far Cry\Bin32\FarCry.exe

Simply copied and pasted it in the "target" from the shortcut with -devmode as indicated above and... there it was.

I know that sounds really stupid and I won't tell how long it took me to find my error, but you've been of help so I thought I should share.

Now I'm looking for a list of shortcuts for the different cheats available ;)
