Hi,
Which one do you think is better Far Cry or Crysis?
I'm currently playing Crysis, and while I enjoy it, I'm starting to find it a bit repetitive (Korean base to infiltrate, cloak/shoot/crawl to safety/re-cloak, and on to the next korean base....). Also the story isn't very exciting in my opinion, and a good story is really important for me in a game.

Anyway this isn't a hate topic about Crysis, which is still a really nice game, but I hear Far Cry's story is more interesting, and maybe with a bit of humor too. So I'm hesitating to buy it
So, if I get Far Cry from Gog, will my gaming experience be very similar to Crysis with older graphics, or are the two games really different? What would be each game's specificities?
Thank you for your advices.
The stories aren't connected. They are different universes, really. The only thing connecting the game is the same developer, and the same setting, like big open islands and stuff.

Oh, and Crysis' story is a lot better than Far Cry's. :)

Thanks for the answer. But I also meant in terms of gameplay, what are the differences? Is Far Cry as much a sandbox as Crysis? And what about stealth? The camouflage option in Crysis makes the game too easy, I think.

Well, think of Far Cry as a present day game, and Crysis as a future day game. :)

In Far Cry, you can be invisible as much as in real life.
I played Crysis Warhead, then Far Cry, and i must say although Far Cry is a good game, i prefered Crysis. Just gameplay is better in Crysis in my opinion.

Far Cry gets a bit annoying when the Tritan sneak up behind you and kill you in one hit.

It's up to the individual person whether they like it or not.
Far cry was great for its day...and still my fav sniper rifle ()using cheats)
But, Crysis is far superior and after ya play Crysis....make sure you play Crysis 2 (its the best yet!)
I have not played Crysis, but I suspect that Far Cry is LESS redundant than Crysis.

There's a surprising amount of variety in Far Cry. The first 8 or so missions are the sort of wide-open outdoor attack-the-base mission you described in Crysis. I think this goes on too long, honestly, and the weakest part of the game is when you're first introduced to Tridgens, because they initially don't change the gameplay much, and they kill you too quickly.

Then, somewhat abruptly, the gameplay gets COMPLETELY different. You get a series of missions inside science facilities, and it feels like a more refined version of Half-Life. I honestly think these are the best part of the game. Despite being open-ended, the outdoor missions get really repetitive, whereas these science facilities are full of cheesy surprises.

One example is the "Fat Boy" enemy, which really allows you to let loose, unlike the slow-paced tactical gameplay against the humans. The Fat Boy is essentially the MANCUBUS from DOOM II, and you have to dodge its projectiles while shooting it like 10 times with a shotgun. There's nothing tactical about it, and it offers a Quake sort of feeling in the middle of a game that would otherwise be overly deliberate and cerebral.

In my opinion, FarCry has a better story line, more varied game play and more challenging as you dont have the luxury of becoming invisible. Crysis has obviously superior graphics, but a straight forward bland story with weak ending and easier to play because you can become invisible. In my opinion, FarCry is the best game that Crytek made till date.
I played both Far Cry and Crysis and while I love both games, I feel that Far Cry is the better game because of how intense and more challenging it can be compared to Crysis.
