I've tried gog.com customer support twice on this, but I haven't gotten a response. So I'm trying here.
I've got a problem with Far Cry making my computer shut down. It is odd because I'm very far into the game and it hasn't caused any problem up until this particular level.
In the game level, "Dam", there are at least two points that causes my computer to shut down. One is near the waterfall at the beginning of the level. Apparently if a certain something comes into my field of view, the computer crashes. I got past that point by walking backwards and never looking at whatever it was that was crashing the computer.
But now I'm further into the level where the volcano is and the same thing is happening. I still don't know what specifically is triggering it, but whenever I look at something across the bridge near the volcano, the computer shuts down again.
I've been able to do this multiple times at both points. It's not a fluke.
Does anybody know what the problem is? Again, I've had no problems with the game up until this point. All my view settings are set to low.
Computer:
XP Home SP3
AMD Athlon XP 3200+
1.5 GB RAM
160 GB HD (47 GB free)
256 MB GeForce 6200
DirectX 9.0c
Realtek AC'97 Audio
