Error Loading Farcry 32bit.

That's the error message I get when trying to run fcam from the fcam launcher on farcry.

I tried 64 bit as well, to no success.

Can anyone help me with this?

I did a fresh install, then installed fcam. I didn't do any other modding to it.
I find I have to run the FCAM executable from its own folder, not from the short-cut. Hasn't helped with the hitching/stuttering tho :(
I just downloaded FCAM 1.99 and the same error messages happen for me too, when trying to run FCAM using the shortcut that the installer put on my desktop. However, if I run the FCAM.exe directly from the mods folder then the launcher loads up and works fine. A bit of an oddity really.

Update: Hmm, deleting the shortcut that was created by the FCAM installer, and then creating my own shortcut to the FCAM.exe executable works. So, there must be something with the shortcut that is provided that causes the error.

Update 2: The 64-bit FCAM option still doesn't work though. No idea why.

re: Update 2: Do you have the 64bit patch installed? Believe that is optional from a 1.2/1.3? patch, before applying the 1.4 - but the GOG version is already 1.4, thus it doesn't accept the 64bit patch :(

Please bear in mind that I am old & may have got my wires crossed at some stage.

It could be that (as I have the GOG version), but I thought FCAM included the 64-bit stuff anyway. If it doesn't then it may well explain the error trying to run 64-bit, but if it does then I don't know. There is a guy who posted on the FCAM moddb page who also cannot run the 64-bit version, but there was never a solution given. I've given his comment below:

lol3r_86 Nov 24 2012, 2:47pm says:
I ment to write that i can't run 64 bit version. I get an error that for some reason it couldn't run 64bit version and asks if i want to try 32 bit instead.

Garcy, the creator, states that the required install order is:

FarCry
FarCry 1.4
FCAM 1.99

Now the GOG version should be the first two steps in one.
I'm gonna be brave; I shall locate and install the 64bit patch, and return with my experiences & thoughts - just give me a few days for that :)
I just installed Far Cry 1 in this order:

1 - Installed the game and run once
2 - Installed farcry_amd64upgrade_us_uk
3 - Installed farcry_amd64_ecu addon content
4 - Installed FCAM (FarCry Addon Mod) 1.99

As everybody said, got error with the created shortcut.
I deleted, created a new shortcut to fcam.exe , set it ro run as Admin, and everything worked fine till now.
Even the 64 bit version.

--------------------------

I had performance issues with the frame-reate very low in some parts.
Changed the shadow details to medium and it solved.

Same problem for me too, only I can't get it to run using the .exe even?!?
Well I just tripped over this issue that you guys have.
My first post here. I hope it helps you and others in the future.

1: Install Far Cry
2: Install Patch 1.4
3: Install FCAM 1.96
4: Install FCAM 1.99

Try to check if the install directories are right.
FCAM 1.96 needs to be straight installed into Far Cry, it automatically creates a FCAM folder into the mods folder! Dont install it only into the Mods folder. It also delivers 64Bit files. FCAM 1.99 gets installed into the mods folder, but the installer chooses the directories automatically so just leave it as it is.
I read that some of you guys only install 1.99.
Actually 1.99 is just an update, a big one to be honest, not even sure if it runs without installing FCAM 1.96.
FCAM 1.96 = 1,4GB
FCAM 1.99 = 1GB
I dont know why Garcry described it so confusing in the MOD DB page.
To be honest first it also seemed like I only need to install 1.99 but thats not the case, at least not when you want to run it correctly + 64Bit.
FCAM 1.96 also delivers the 64Bit files so dont install the 1.32 64Bit Patch!
There is no need for it.

Im playing on 1080p + 4xAA + 16x Anisotropy + Very High & Ultra High Seetings (FCAM settings)
Getting permantely 60FPS (Vsync).
Tested system:
AMD FX 8350 @4,0Ghz
AMD R9 280X Sapphire Toxic + Catalyst 14.4
8GB Ram
Windows 7 64Bit
Far Cry UK English Language

32 & 64 Bit works both without problems, even though I use 32Bit because 64Bit is a little bit buggy.
And 64Bit doesnt support Iron Sights + Im forcing Vsync & Triple Buffering through Direct3DOverrider. Doesnt work for 64Bit executables. The default Vsync of Far Cry doesnt work so well if you ask me, I still have a lot of tearing with it, RadeonPro doesnt seem to be able to force Vsync and triple buffering. Only Direct3DOverrider is sucessfull. But disable the mouse smoothing then! Its horrible when its on while forcing Vsnyc.
Not even sure if there is a difference when FCAM is installed. Does FCAM port the extra functions of the 64Bit exe to the 32Bit exe? I read that the view of 64Bit has more range but thats all. I didnt played Multiplayer, not even sure if its still online. Gamespy dead? With 64Bit the Mutliplayer doesnt work anyway.
I dont know if this mod also works with other languages of Far Cry. I used the UK English Version DVD.

Oh and another thing! If you use AMD graphic cards make sure to install the latest driver updates!
I think drivers with the version 13 or 12 having problems with Far Cry! No clue why. But AMD fixed this issue with the 14 drivers. Before there were a lot of FPS slowdowns especially with Very High Shadows and Water reflections. Well, this game is old but nice that AMD fixed this issue.

Oh yeah, the shortcut on the desktop seems to be unuseable, create an own to FCAM.exe.

Also keep in mind that the first Far Cry startup can take several minutes, the game is creating the shaders for some graphics. Same for the loading screens. Dont worry this will only happen once the game is freshly installed.

Keep in mind that Patch 1.4 messes up the controls. Restore ingame the default buttons and done.

The onyl bug I noticed while playing it is actually that those shooting lights seem weird, they reflect on walls in a weird way. Not sure if its a bug or if thats just the way of the game to display shooting lights.

You can get both FCAM versions on MOD DB

Well thats just what I wanted to leave.
If you guys still having troubles just ask, maybe I will answer even though im not really active in this forum.

Figured it out. Do not run fcam.exe from a shortcut. Navigate to the folder fcam.exe is in and run it "as an Administrator" from there.

Apparently the programmer failed to register the install directory and uses the directory the program is run from (which if from a shortcut is the Desktop directory which is wrong). They should fix this as it is a simple error.

Couldn't the shortcut's "Start In" directory just be edited to fix that?
For some reason FCAM 1.99 installs directly to the FarCry root folder instead of the Mods folder. To get the mod to work, install it to \FarCry\Mods. If you have installed it to the FarCry root folder already, just create a folder named "Mods" and move the folder "FCAM" inside it.

The reason for this problem is actually quite simple: The shortcut is set to run FCAM.exe in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Crytek\Far Cry\Mods", which is not the desired directory to run it in. Simply changing that to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Crytek\Far Cry\Mods\FCAM" solves the problem. That's why creating a new shortcut also works. :)

I'm going through this process right now and it's different for me, the shortcut that created itself just needed admin rights, and after I installed the mod correctly the way xXPostalDudeXx described (without whom I couldn't get this to run properly so big props to you man), it was fine. It's really odd the creator provides next to nothing in terms of changelog, installation instructions, anything. But now game runs great, I just have one more thing to add that I don't think was mentioned, you want your lightning setting set to high, and shadows to medium, for the best performance and stability, rest you can set to max.
