So I got Far Cry today in the FPS sale, installed it and had a quick game to see how it ran on my laptop, but when I quit and went back to my desktop I found I couldn't click on anything - icons, the start menu, the task manager, nothing responded. I shut down using alt F4 and rebooted, but was having a similar problem...it seemed like Windows was only responding to mouse clicks every few seconds.

So I uninstalled the game and rebooted again, and while things are a bit better, they're still not back to normal and I'm finding I have to click on things two or three times to, say, switch window in my browser or open the Start menu.

Does anyone have any idea what the hell this game's done to my system and how to fix it?
