Believe it or not, Ubi and Adult Swim combined forces right around release time for Far Cry 2 and decided to act as though their two products had something to do with one another.
"Adult Swim travelled to Africa to hand pick songs for African Swim and to meet featured artists like Jozi, Gumshev and Maggz face-to-face. African Swim will also feature interviews and performances that will be available for view at adultswim.com that will highlight the inspiration and talent behind the innovative music. In addition, there will be a free gameplay demo and an exclusive inside look at the making of the highly anticipated first-person shooter game Ubisoft’s Far Cry® 2, also set in Africa and scheduled to release October 21, 2008."
The compilation album is available here: http://video.adultswim.com/music/africanswim/
I'm just stunned that a web site as piecemeal as Adult Swim appears to be still has it together enough to host a working download for a promotion five years old.
