Far Cry 2 is a great game, but it bears very little resemblance to the original and the story isn't at all related. An actual sequel would be nice, given the way the first ended. Crytek, hear my plea!

I played a bit of the demo. It's definitely similar to Far Cry in gameplay, but a continuation of the story would be nice too.

The problem about FarCry 2 was the enormous hype that existed in those days. Comparing it to shooter genre standards it is nothing really special at all, but just the name let expectations rise and rise. Also it just has nothing to do with FarCry 1, so oft course many people did not like it and are looking forward to a true FarCry 3. I bet it will be released... some day.
