As others have stated, GOG has a long history of keeping "removed from sale" titles in our libraries. There is absolutely no reason to expect anything different from them on this front, especially when they have clearly stated that they once again will be doing that. However, no one should rely on GOG's servers as the sole backup source for their games. Servers crash, businesses fail... shit happens and you should plan for that. I personally keep two backups in addition to the GOG site: the PC I download them to and the networked drive that PC backs up to (I used to also burn them to DVD, but that started to get a little ridiculous as I bought more games and GOG started releasing updated installers). I strongly recommend, if you are concerned at all about the availability of the game installers, you invest in a decent size external drive of some type and back them up.

DavosWoman: Once interplay loses the rights come January 1st 2014, will the games just be removed for sale or will they also be removed from our libraries? I have all three classic fallout games in my library and I'm wondering if it will be removed once they're yanked off the catalog.
You could just download them and back up the files. :)

althrian: What happened to Interplay and their rights to the Fallout classics?
Well you see Interplay sold the rights to Fallout but they negotiated the right to sell the classic titles for X amount of time and that time is running out.

I wasn't aware of this issue and just paid for Fallout 2 but it remains stuck at the checkout and not in my games list. Also my copy of Fallout 1 has disappeared from my games list. Seems like I've fallen foul of this rights change?

Could be some other problem? They're still intact on my shelf so far.

They're also intact on my shelf too. Not only that but GoG is still selling the Fallout titles. I would definately get in touch with support if fallout 1 disappeared from your shelf.

Also, being stuck at the checkout is probably because of GoGs servers getting overloaded with requests. Keep trying, you'll get through eventually :)

They've fixed this problem now. Apparently due to a rare connection issue.
