Ok, I do know that both the original CD copy and the GOG.com version has some what different file locations. But for the life of me I just can't find the savedata in the Fallout 2 Folder.
I suppose the original copy has a 'SAVEDATA' folder in the data folder (as far as I know), but the GOG copy (the only one I have) only has a 'maps' folder... and, there's nothing in it.
Sorry for asking, I'm just really lost here. I just can't stand playing FO2 on my laptop. People besides me needs to use it.

This question / problem has been solved by Aliasalphaimage
I only own the boxed copy, so this is more just a general guess based on what alot of games do with saves. Have you looked in your documents and settings user profile?
C:\Documents and settings\(your user profiles)\local settings\application data check in there.
or
Just your normal documents folder can also be got to through
C:\Documents and settings\(your user profiles)\my documents

Are you running vista? I seem to recall reading that the user account protection thingy (to give it the technically correct name) isolates anything created by new programs on their first run
My GOGified FO2 data folder contains the subfolders ART, MAPS, PROTO & SAVEGAME and the file WORLDMAP.DAT. If you search for those, they might be in your user folder somewhere. You should be able to copy them into the [install]\data folder

.In Vista, when an old application without admin priviledges tries to write to a folder that it doesn't have permission for (like Program Files) then UAC, in order to allow the program to work, redirects the file to a special folder in your personal directory.
Check C:UsersusernameAppDataLocalVirtualStoreProgram Files

Yeah, pretty much what I just said only with a more technical edge. It's too hot here to look stuff up or I'd have done that too. I think that dragging and dropping the contents from the C:Users\username\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files to the install directory should help.
This kind of protected directory thing is why I always recommend a user made install directory for things like games
If its NOT vista then I'm flummoxed.
Ahh vista always trying to be user friendly and helpful, which in turn causes more effort and work for the end user.
Thank you, very much guys. I managed to find C:Users\username\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files myself and transfer savedata to my PC (who uses XP) and made the game run. Everything's working great!
Maybe I should've mentioned that my laptop is running Vista... but thanks guys.
Glad to hear it works. If you would, you should mark either aliasalpha or weclocks as the solution incase anyone else has this problem. Whichever you found more helpful in solving your problem.

I actually have this solution posted in my Fallout 1 faq, but it works across the board for any vista user.

I just copied and pasted from my Fallout 1 faq. I've done the work on this, but months ago. :)
