But thankfully the face of RPG's did with the arrival of Fallout , and later its sequel, which brought a breath of fresh air into a genre that was heavily rooted in the orcs and goblins approach.
Fallout combines a beautiful depth with a range of player driven options and ties it into a rich, dark apocalyptic story. With an interesting character development via PERK's as well as adopting a unique body part targeting system in combat, it was a landmark of its time.
Is it still worth the purchase? Hell yes. This and its sequel are worth any rpg'ers time, heartily recommended.
